Before joining Baird, I had the privilege of working closely with an incredible individual who has special needs. Every week, we’d head to the bowling alley to join a league filled with other amazing kids and young adults with special needs. It wasn’t just about bowling—it was about laughter, connection, and community. These weekly outings became a highlight of my life, and the friendships I built there have stayed close to my heart.
Since starting my journey at Baird, I haven’t had as many opportunities to spend time with my friends from the league. But thanks to Baird’s “Baird Gives Back” program, which encourages associates to volunteer in their communities, I was able to return to the bowling alley and reconnect with the group.
Yesterday was truly special. As I walked in, I was greeted with huge smiles, warm hugs, and excited cheers. It felt like coming home. We bowled, we laughed, and we caught up on everything we’ve missed. The joy on their faces—and mine—was a powerful reminder of how meaningful these relationships are.
I’m incredibly grateful to work for a company that values giving back and makes space for us to stay connected to the causes and communities we care about. Volunteering with the bowling league again reminded me why I started working in client services in the first place: to build relationships, make a difference, and bring joy wherever I can.
Thank you, Baird, for helping me make that happen.
